A taste of the Big Apple is coming to Auld Reekie

Brand new Frederick Street bar and restaurant 63rd+1st, opening this spring, promises to bring great NYC-inspired cocktails and street food to Scotland's capital.

Named in reference to the original Fridays bar and restaurant founded in 1965 at the intersection of Manhattan's 63rd Street and 1st Avenue, the new branch of 63rd+1st will have space for more than 100 guests to enjoy classic American cocktails, as well as a range of dishes inspired by the colourful and international street food scene of New York City.

CEO Robert B. Cook says: '63rd+1st represents the coming together of people, culture, tastes and styles. Our menu will undoubtedly entertain and excite all our guests courtesy of fantastic cocktails created by a team of expert bartenders and our New York City street food inspired menu.'

The diverse range of food and drinks offered ensures that 63rd+1st is fit to cater for everyone, at all times of the day. The menu is centred on smaller sharing plates, allowing guests the freedom enjoy a range of different dishes and flavours alongside the bar's cocktails, mocktails, wines and beers.

“Whether it’s business or pleasure, student or tourist, you will be made to feel at home in our beautiful venue, which has been inspired by over 50 years of unique heritage and is guaranteed to be a place where great things happen."

The Edinburgh venue represents the latest in a list of five other UK locations for 63rd+1st, and will be opening in the New Town amidst some of Edinburgh's top entertainment hotspots, hotels, bars and restaurants. There's even a heated outdoor terrace for those cold Scottish evenings!

At a time when travel is at best difficult, and sometimes not possible at all, 63rd+1st offers you the opportunity to take a bite of the Big Apple and sample a number of transatlantic tipples.
