Brodies Afternoon Tea at Murrayshall

Built in 1664 Murrayshall House, is a baroque masterpiece. Nestled in a delightful country estate it is a tranquil and reposeful getaway. Boasting a luxurious 4-star hotel in Perthshire. It is an evergreen landscape that spans over 365 acres. There are lots of walks and two golf courses. It's known to be a place where you can relax and escape from your busy schedule and relax in elegance and peace. It is a location that helps you create unforgettable experiences.

Furthermore, more to truly top off your escape to the countryside, Murryshall House is offering a very special event. From Sunday the 6th of March at 2pm, they are hosting an Afternoon Tea at the house. Where you can dine and enjoy Scottish produce among 400 years of history. What makes this event unique is that there will be specially matched Brodies Teas with all of the food. Brodies is an Edinburgh tea company that has been running since 1867. Brodies has been importing and blending tea for over 150 years since the time of the great tea clippers which docked at the bustling Port of Leith, laden with precious cargoes from the farthest corners of the earth.

The specialty tea company and infusions are very interesting and Philip Wilson of Brodies will introduce the teas. The options will be Famous Edinburgh, Darjeeling, Ceylon and Red Berry Crush. He will explain how they combine with items featured on the afternoon tea menu.

A classy and sweet event that costs 35 pounds per person. It's a delightful opportunity as spring will be on its way and there is no more perfect time for afternoon tea than when the flowers begin blooming. The food menu also looks rather delightful. Scottish smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, black pudding sausage rolls are just some of the savouries that are on the menu. The sweet selection is even more impressive; carrot cakes and candied pecans, buttered gingerbread and vanilla panna cotta.

Fiona Pugh, Head of Food and Beverage at Murrayshall, commented: “This is an elegant afternoon for connoisseurs of whole-leaf teas who perhaps want to learn more about them as well as those who just want a pleasant afternoon with family or friends in the countryside, enjoying great food in a wonderful setting.”
