Grab a cuppa on the banks of Kinghorn Loch at The Nest Café
The profits of the new cafe, open on weekends, will help fund The Ecology Centre, as well as its volunteering and outdoor learning programmes
Kinghorn Loch Weekends, have an exciting new addition in the form of The Nest Café at The Ecology Centre.
The Nest Café, which opened its doors on Saturday the 19th of June, will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday going forward from 10 am until 3 pm, allowing visitors to enjoy a cup of tea and some cake on the banks of Kinghorn Loch.
Led by new Café Supervisor Stuart Gilmour, the Nest will be supported by a new team of cafe volunteers and aligns well with the social enterprise ethos of The Ecology Centre, with all profits going back into supporting the continued running of the Centre and its volunteering and outdoor learning programmes.
Stuart, a Kinghorn local, has had over 30 years of experience in catering and has volunteered at the Centre previously in its Community Garden.
Stuart said: "I can't wait to get the Nest Cafe open and welcome you to The Ecology Centre. We've got a cracking menu lined up and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the loch. It's a great location - perfect for people in Kinghorn and the surrounding area to come and enjoy a cuppa and cake."
The Ecology Centre is a community-led charity, based on the banks of Kinghorn Loch. The Centre inspires positive change through directly connecting people and the natural environment for the benefit of both and has been in operation for over 20 years.
Today the community-owned site is a haven for wildlife, plants and plant-lovers alike. The location welcomes over 5000 visitors annually through its education and events programme while also providing volunteer work to the local community.
