The bar and restaurant opened for the first time this past Friday and have been met with lots of support with a successful weekend of compliments and delights pouring through their doors.
Everything from the interior to the name to the food and drinks are inspired by the original Manhattan bar which was located on 63rd and 1st Street. They brought the Manhattan style and flair to Glasgow with a unique and beautifully designed night club interior for people to enjoy morning, noon and night as they peruse the food menu and extensive cocktail menu.
Located a short walk from Glasgow Central Station, this is the perfect spot to relax after a busy shopping spree or simply enjoy a cocktail after work. 63rd + 1st can cater to everyone’s needs with a large interior able to seat 135 covers.
The ethos is ‘life tastes better shared’ and with that in mind, their menu includes some delicious sharing platters. Favourites from the opening weekend include their Jammy Chicken Lollipops with chilli and for those looking for something unique to share with friends and family, their Truffle Arancini with parmesan was another big hit this past weekend.
Glaswegians have also fallen in love with the hand-crafted cocktails and the chosen favourite from opening weekend has been the Berry Chelsea. A gorgeous blend of Tanqueray London Dry gin with lemonade, blackberries and raspberries; a hit for pink gin lovers who are looking for a new alternative.
Although each dish has an ideal cocktail pairing, their Bar Manager Boston Alexander has two recommendations: the NoHo Sour from the ‘Boozy + Honest’ range and the Negroni from the ‘Bitter + Sweet’ range. All of Boston’s bartenders are experts in mixology and have been highly trained to deliver the perfect cocktail every time.
