Ondine Oyster and Grill unveils new look to welcome back customers

Ondine Oyster and Grill is a specialist seafood restaurant based on George IV Bridge, Edinburgh. They have enjoyed preparing delicious, fresh seafood dishes for several years and they are pleased to officially reopen their doors to welcome back customers with a completely transformed look and some new additions to their already exquisite menu.

Don’t be deceived by the construction still underway outside – once you have stepped through the doors, you will see for yourself the magically transformed look which emulates a ship at sea. Although the scaffolding will be up until early next year and is unfortunately outside the restaurants control, they have ensured the inside is so beautiful, you’ll forget all about it. The restaurant wanted to give its customers the ultimate dining experience with a clever window display, and a space designed to feel like you’re at sea while you enjoy seafood at its best.

Chef and Owner, Roy Brett said: ‘We maybe can’t control what is happening outside the restaurant but what we can control is what is happening inside, and we have created a unique dining experience with honest seasonal integrity at the fore. We have completely changed the entire look and feel of the place and we are really looking forward to sharing the experience with you all as we re-open and welcome you back to Ondine Oyster & Grill.”

The restaurant have also added a brand new robata grill. Robata is short for ‘robatayaki’ in Japanese which translates as ‘fireside cooking’. This style of cooking over hot charcoal on an open fireplace intensifies the flavour and adds a different texture to the meat and fish. They are excited to use for dishes such as Perthshire Rib of Beef, Isle of Mull Scallop and Native Lobster among others. If you already know and love the dishes Ondine Oyster and Grill does, then you will be pleased to learn those will still be on the menu. The restaurant is expanding their menu to include more high quality and freshly prepared dishes which bring the flavours of the sea to your plate.

Over lockdown, Ondine Oyster and Grill delivered good quality seafood dishes to those at home and as such, they have continued their fantastic reputation. We look forward to seeing the new renovations in person and trying some new dishes on their expanding menu.
