Enjoy the award-winning Top Dog burger at St James Quarter's acclaimed food hall
Bonnie & Wild has just welcomed the latest resident to its acclaimed food hall: the award-winning El Perro Negro bringing its delicious burgers to St James Quarter.
The Glasgow restaurant and takeaway has come a long way. What started as a pop-up back in 2014 would lead to a restaurant and takeaway the Woodlands area and eventually resulted in the burger business becoming two-time winners of the UK's best burger in 2021 and 2019.
Now El Perro Negro have made their way to Edinburgh after finding the perfect location to share their craft with Scotland's Capital.
The new opening was hinted at over the weekend via their social media announcing their move to Edinburgh, though the exact location was a mystery to fans until today.
El Perro Negro’s founder Nick Watkins said: “Opening in Edinburgh is a massive milestone for El Perro Negro, and both myself and business partners Peter McKenna and Ivan Stein are delighted to head east and join such a fantastic line-up at Bonnie & Wild. The support from customers over the past seven years, since we started out as a small pop-up in Glasgow has been overwhelming and we can’t wait to welcome everyone at our newest location.”
Visitors to Bonnie & Wild will now be able to enjoy the award-winning Top Dog burger: a tasty combo of bone marrow and Roquefort butter, double bacon, caramelised onions and black truffle mayo.
Other delights on the menu include the Classic which can be enjoyed as is or with some bacon and cheese additions as well as the Tofu burger which offers a fantastic vegetarian option.
Bonnie & Wild’s Director of Operations Ryan Barrie said: “I’ve over the moon that Nick and the El Perro Negro team are joining Bonnie & Wild. Nick’s focus on high quality and responsible sourcing really chimes with Bonnie & Wild, and we’re delighted to be welcoming the El Perro Negro team into our Scottish Marketplace.“
