If you're overwhelmed by choice or unsure of what your dad would like, here are a wide range of foolproof dad-approved gifts. First off, we'll narrow down the whiskies and spirits.

If the Father in your life is a Gin lover, consider Northuist Distillery Downpour Gin a fantastic father's day gift. Using wild heather flowers, each batch is named after the place the heather was harvested from on the islands. Visit https://www.northuistdistillery.com/ to shop.

For whisky enthusiasts, we have a great selection of whiskies coming up. First up we have Benraich's original 10 single malt whisky (available at Waitrose). Three cask matured for at least ten years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak, to create layers of luscious orchard fruit, sumptuous honeyed malt and toasted oak, all interwoven with a subtle trace of smoke. A classic combination combined with Benriach's fruity spirit makes for a great tasting and easy-drinking smooth whisky. At RRP of £38 this makes a lovely gift for Father’s Day which doesn’t break the bank. If your dad prefers his Whisky in a cocktail, they recommend the following recipe:

Benraich Penicillin

25ml Benriach The Original Ten

25ml Benriach The Smoky Ten

10ml ginger liqueur

20ml lemon juice

20ml honey syrup (1:1)

Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker

Serve over ice with a lemon zest and candied ginger

Want to give them a taste of the Benriach or unsure what flavour they will like best, why not try one of the miniature tasting sets? Available in a tasting triple pack, a 10 year old tasting set and a 12 year old tasting test. It's the perfect introduction to Benriach’s signature style and richly layered Speyside Single Malt.

Alternatively, you could opt for The GlenDorach Whisky. Nestled in the Valley of Forgue, deep in the East Highland hills, is The GlenDronach - one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. The GlenDronach is of true Highland style; producing richly-sherried Highland Single Malts recognised for their deep colour and complex flavour profiles, which range from the sweet fruity flavours of the Pedro Ximénez casks we select, to the dry and nutty notes of our Oloroso casks. The GlenDronach Master Blender, Dr Rachel Barrie, finely crafts each expression’s signature character from a marriage of both types of cask. These work in synergy to create the complex depth of flavour for which The GlenDronach is so well known. This superb richly sherried single malt is matured for at least 12 years in a combination of the finest Spanish Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. Natural colour and bottled at 43%, The GlenDronach 12 years old Original is a sweet, creamy dram. Alternatively, consider the GlenDorach cask bottling batch 19, as well as the Glendorach cask strength 10.

Next up we have Loch Lomond Whisky from the Loch Lomond distillery, which has been producing the finest single malt whiskies since 1814. This independent distiller, located in Alexandria, sells its whisky in 125 countries and has won multiple awards. Each expression has been carefully crafted using Loch Lomond Whiskies’ remarkable straight-neck stills, which are entirely unique to the distillery. These innovative stills allow Master Blender, Michael Hendry, to explore the flavour profiles in an imaginative way. Fuelled by a desire to explore the depths and possibilities of distillation, Loch Lomond Whiskies has curated an exceptional portfolio of single malts which will appeal to a variety of tastes, interests and budgets this Father’s Day. The Loch Lomond Group are suggesting 3 of their whiskies to be a great Father's Day gift.

The first is the Loch Lomond The Open Course Edition (ABV 48.2% , RRP £225): A rich and elegant single malt whisky, it pays homage to all the golf courses where The Open has taken place, from the first ever championship in Prestwick in 1860 to St Andrews where the 2022 event will be held. The limited edition single malt is a rare expression which captures the distillery’s spirit of exploration and unique whisky-making style. It was first distilled 22 years ago and delivers notes of stewed apple, pear and black cherry with vanilla and dark chocolate, a warming ginger spice and wood smoke finish. It is aged in American Oak casks before being finished in the finest Haut-Médoc Claret Barriques for 36 months.

Their next recommendation is The ideal gift for golf fans, Loch Lomond The Open Edition (ABV 46%, RRP £45) marks the 150th year of golf’s most prestigious championship which will return to the “Home of Golf”, St Andrews, in the summer. It has been crafted in partnership with legendary golfer Colin Montgomerie who worked closely with Master Blender Michael Hendry to create a whisky worthy of the historic anniversary (and each bottle has his signature on the packaging!). Perfectly capturing the distillery’s signature style of fruit, honey and soft smoke, the unique single malt is bursting with flavour, displaying notes of strawberry, peach and lime citrus, a creamy fudge sweetness, a lingering oak spice, and soft smoke finish. It has been aged in American Oak casks before being hand selected for additional finishing in Bordeaux Red Wine Barriques, creating an additional layer of complexity.

If your'e overwhelmed by choice, a pretty safe bet to get is the Loch Lomond 12

Year Old Perfectly Balanced (ABV 46% , RRP £45). One of Loch Lomond Whiskies’ most popular releases, and displaying a number of international awards, Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Perfectly Balanced is the single greatest representation of the distillery’s signature style of fruit, honey and soft smoke. Delivering delicious notes of peach and pear layered with vanilla sweetness and a gentle hint of smoke on the finish, it is an exceptionally balanced whisky which allows drinkers to explore the many hidden depths of Loch Lomond Whiskies. It has been aged in three types of American Oak casks (bourbon, refill and re-charred) before quietly maturing for 12 years on the shores of the iconic Loch Lomond.

Our final Whisky recommendation is Glen Scotia Whisky. The Glen Scotia Double Cask whisky offers a harmonious and easy-drinking pour, matured in first fill bourbon barrels and finished in Pedro-Ximenez-sherry casks. The Victoriana has been bottled at cask strength and offers a modern interpretation on a traditional Campbeltown Malt finished in heavily charred oak casks. For those that simply cannot choose, the single malt gift set allows a sampling of the Glen Scotia Double Cask and 15 Year Old – a classic aged Campbeltown Malt full of regional. With Father’s Day on the horizon, it’s an ideal chance to raise a toast to all

celebrate; sit back and share a dram while spilling over stories and memories.

nuances.

For this special occasion, they recommend 3 of their whiskies. The first is the Glen Scotia Double Cask (ABV 46% , RRP £40). Glen Scotia Double Cask is a wonderfully easy-drinking Campbeltown Single Malt with tastes of toffee, salted caramel, and a sweet dry sherry finish. Aged in bourbon barrels before being finished in PX sherry casks, this expression provides the perfect balance of spicy fruits, sea spray and sweet vanilla oak. Rich and spicy, this Double Cask scotch whisky boasts flavours from fudge to black pepper and so much more. It accomplishes fruity notes without overbearing citrus or peat, while its honey-smooth finish is synonymous with the body and viscosity Campbeltown is known for.

The second is their Glen Scotia Victoriana Single Malt Scotch Whisky (ABV 52%, RRP £73). Glen Scotia Victoriana, a true Campbeltown whisky, inspired by Victorian times. This cask strength single malt is one for the whisky connoisseurs. With its rare character and exceptional maturity finished in deep charred oak, our Victoriana is an exceptionally smooth single malt whisky with an aroma and flavour profile that works in exquisite harmony. Bottled in the traditional way straight from the cask and without filtration, its subtle wood and vanilla flavour is enhanced by a full-bodied spicy fruit aroma and mildly smoky aftertaste. This elegant cask strength single malt offers a full-bodied palate with initial hints of oak, crème brûlée and caramelised fruits, leading to rich dark chocolate and blackcurrant palate.

Finally, their last recommendation is a gift set which includes both their Double Cask Single Malt and 15 Year Old Single Malt (ABV 46%, RRP £40). The 20cl whisky miniatures gift sets are the perfect introduction to a whisky region rich in heritage and the perfect gift for a whisky lover looking to delve into the world of Campbeltown whisky. This single malt gift set includes the much-loved Glen Scotia Double Cask and 15 Year Old single malt whiskies— two distinctive award-winning whiskies, each with their own flavour and character.
